Many people and websites use of the terms “juice fast” and “juice feast” interchangeably in the same conversation that the terms juice diet, juice cleanse and juice detox are also used. It is further complicated as some people under take fruit juice cleansing, while others do vegetable-based cleansing, while some people do both together.
This can be confusing to the beginner, but basically they are all methods of detoxifying the body and preparing it for a more healthy way of eating, that contains a combination of fruit and vegetable juices, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables in the solid diet.
It is also aimed at moving towards a mucusless diet, which can have health benefits beyond the initial detoxifying process.
However it is described, the key is to hydrate your body cells with everything they need rapidly, in a way that you can’t get from eating whole cooked foods.
What Is The Difference Between A Juice Fast And A Juice Feast?
There is a far more wide interpretation of what a juice feast is compared to a juice fast.
Juice fasting, juice cleansing or juice detoxifying is all around not eating solid foods, and replacing that purely with juice in order to flush the system of toxins in the short to medium term.
Juice feasting is about combining a juice cleanse, i.e. drinking lots of fruit and vegetable juices, while also eating fresh raw vegetables and fruit. In some interpretations of feasting, this can also include cooked vegetables, usually if they are steamed, fried or blanched, rather than boiled.
So the juice feast is a halfway house between a healthy vegetable-based diet and a juice fast where nothing is eaten at all.
Should I Undertake A Juice Fast Or A Juice Feast?
Ultimately it’s up to you which you undertake. However, there are a couple of considerations which would possibly influence your decision.
The first is financial. If you cannot afford the time and cost involved in at pure volume juicing then you may wish to go for juice feast.
The second is to do with your health. There are certain groups of people, such as diabetics, and pregnant women, who should not suddenly change their diet, especially without medical advice, and certainly not to replace the balanced diet they need with a pure juice one.
Some people may decide that they want to try a juice feast first, as it can be a stepping stone towards a full juice only detox the next time around.
However for most people, either option is perfectly viable. If you do not wish to take the time to create the fruit juice blend yourself then Dr Juice Cleanse have a range of highly nutritious and tasty prepared juice cleanse products available for rapid delivery.
